Grade 7: Vocab Unit 4 (Homework Due: Wednesday 3/20 + Friday Test 3/22)

Students were given an option for an extended vocabulary unit for this section. Students got to choose with vocabulary terms would be the best right fit for them. Half of the class will be studying the terms below from the Wordly Wise Grade 7 Book. The other half of the class will be studying terms from Sadlier Vocabulary Workshop book. Both vocabulary lists are paired with a homework packet that will be due on Wednesday, March 20th.

Vocabulary test will be on Friday, March 22nd.

Grade 6: Paragraph Writing Assignment (first draft due by the end of class tomorrow)

This week we have continued to work on our paragraph writing skills. Please remember to use the P.E.E. Method as a tool for paragraph writing. Students are working on writing/editing a persuasive paragraph.

Assignment:

Choose ONE of the following topics and respond by writing one body paragraph

 

  • Homework should be abolished
  • Pets should be allowed in school
  • Children should be allowed to carry cell phones in school

Grade 7: Outsiders Update

This week we are continuing our novel study of The Outsiders. Today we read the majority of Ch.9. For those students who have been absent, please keep up to date with the reading. Tomorrow we will read Ch.10 and participate in a social media workshop with Bridgette in the library.

Grade 8: Lord of the Flies Update

This week we continued our reading/discussion of Lord of the Flies. The attached document is to be completed while watching the video. The purpose of this assignment is to determine how the story is portrayed differently in the film. Students will complete the chart and submit the final product upon completion of the novel/film. Attached is the link for the movie for those who missed class. We currently watched the first 40 minutes of the film. Please skip minutes 38:40 and 39:15 for coarse language.

We are up to page 114 in the book currently.

Grade 8 Pd. 5- Answer the following reflection questions regarding our Holocaust Unit. After you have completed this task, you may work independently on either Steam Fair or the 60 Second Pitch Assignment.

  3. What was the most important thing you have learned thus far in our Jewish Studies course? Explain

Grade 7 Pd. 6- Finish the drawing/creative piece relating to the first chapter of Perkei Avot. Those who turned in these assignments can find them on the window behind my desk (on top of the blue binder). Coloring materials can be found in the closet (put back neatly)
